Founded by Stephanie Wagner, New York Country Swag brings talented up and coming artists to the big apple! On Thursday June 22nd, they held their Country Night on the Water at the Bungalow Bar, in Queens. It was a show with a view! While fans trickled in they got to hear a local act, Caroline Jones! A country girl from the tri-state area, but raised by a Nashville native father, who inspired her to write songs of love, life and growing up with a southern gentleman. Jones’ current single, “Rise (Sing It Loud)”, landed a top 5 of iHeartRadio’s Macy’s Rising Star; and was a fan favorite of the night!
As the sun went down, the drinks kept coming, and the clock was reach closer and closer for Jackie Lee to take stage. The crowd inched themselves closer the stage. As the band took their position you could feel the anticipation seeping from the fans! With an energy that would make the Energizer bunny jealous, Jackie took the stage with a smile that couldn’t be wiped off his face! With it being his first show in New York City, he just wanted to clarify that, yes, his name is Jackie Lee, he is not a girl or Asian, though he could see where one may assume it.
The evening consisted of singing originals like his latest single, “Getting Over You,” and “She Does.” A bonus was when Lee brought us back to our younger, teenage angst years with a cover of Fall Out Boy’s, “Sugar, We’re Going Down” that would even make Pete Wentz smile!
