All Time Low Share Their ‘Dirty Laundry’

By Paula Araujo

On Friday February 17, All Time Low released their brand new song “Dirty Laundry” along with a music video. The band also announced they are with a new label, Fueled By Ramen. The song gives us not only new music to listen to but also a new taste of the group’s sound.

With a little less instrumental and a little more electronic than we’re used to, the track still thrives as the next step into this new chapter for the band. The song is mellow, without being a ballad, but serves well as a leading track that is heavily relatable. Lyrically, the song is an honest perspective where the storyteller airs out more than just their dirty laundry. It about admitting your faults while being willing to look past that and accept you as you are and moving forward. Lead singer, Alex Gasgarth shared on Facebook:

“Dirty Laundry is a proud moment for me personally, a song written in the company of friends, torn apart and stitched back together several times over like all the best relationships… It’s about leaving the past where it belongs, and loving the people around you for not only their light, but their darkness too. We shot the video with that in mind; inspired by a dream about the ups and downs that make us who we are, sometimes worn and tired, but better for it… alive and inspired.”

The music video takes us into Goodtimes Laundromat and into the mind of Alex Gaskarth. Alex stands motionless while being haunted by people of his past. These people are not only tearing him down while also tearing up his clothes, they’re also telling him who to be and what to do. By the final chorus, Alex is in a new outfit and moving again while rocking with his bandmates.

Dirty Laundry is a good look on you, All Time Low. The new single is a glimpse of new and better things to come from All Time Low. Right now catch the band on tour across Europe, Australia, and Japan. For dates, click here.
