NYC Says Farewell To Yellowcard

By Paula Araujo

On November 9th, Yellowcard brought their Final World Tour to the PlayStation Theater in NYC. The group was welcomed to a sold out crowd. Dry Jacket and Like Torches opened the show with their eclectic sound. Like Torches drummer Jimmy Brunkvist, rocked the stage as the drummer for Yellowcard as well. Yellowcard’s farewell kicked off with the song “Believe” from their record Ocean Avenue. Things quickly switched into high gears as they continued the night with “Way Away” and “Lights and Sounds.” The energy was radiating and the band was giving it their all. Lead singer, Ryan Key, shared various stories about the songs adding an intimate element to the show. The crowd was enthusiastically nostalgic as they played past favorites such as,”Empty Apartment,” and “October Nights”.  The evening ended on a high note as the encore had everyone belting out “Only One” and of course, the classic “Ocean Avenue” for one last time.
