On June 26, the Boys of Zummer tour heated things up at the Xfinity Theater in Hartford, CT. The boys who brought on the heat were Max Schneider, DJ Drama, Hoodie Allen, Wiz Khalifa, surprise guest Travie McCoy, and Fall Out Boy. Max, DJ Drama, and Hoodie all did a great jump of warming up the crowd and getting the audience pumped up for co-headliners Wiz Khalifa and Fall Out Boy.
Wiz Khalifa’s 15 song set was blunt from the start with a NSFW intro video. As his performance went on, he lit up on stage and even had two huge inflatable blunts in the crowd during ‘Young and Wild and Free.’ He also made his way to the back of the audience and treated fans sitting in the lawn for a few songs. Throughout his set, he also made sure to spread his message of good vibes and self empowerment. After Wiz’s set Travie McCoy surprised the audience and sang his hit ‘Billionaire.’
Fall Out Boy kicked things into high gear with the song that started it all for them ten years ago, “Sugar, We’re Goin Down,’ which certainly had the entire crowd singing their hearts out. Their set included several of their greatest hits throughout the past decade. During the middle of their performance, you could find them in the back of the crowd joining fans in the lawn area with acoustic guitars as they played ‘Young Volcanoes’ and ‘Immortals.’ After that the hits just kept on coming with songs such as ‘Dance, Dance,’ and their current single ‘Uma Thurman.’ They concluded the evening with two final songs, the first being ‘My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark’ but the real surprise was the final song that brought it back even further with the track ‘Saturday’ which was from their 2003 debut album, ‘Take This To Your Grave.’
The Boys of Zummer really know how to party and treat the audience to a good time. The tour runs through August and it is surely not a show to miss this summer. For dates and tickets click here.
